The caves have been visited since ancient times and it is very likely that the island's primitive inhabitants knew of them, as did the various populations that later inhabited the island. Going through the towering entrance, we gain access to the chamber known as the Vestibule or Entrance Hall, where countless stalactites with prodigious shapes and extraordinary proportions hang from the high arched ceiling. The adventure continues between vestibules and natural columns that will not leave any visitor indifferent.

El Castell de Capdepera

This fortress located on the top of a hill that crowns the town of Capdepera was built in the 14th century by order of Jaume II to guard the area against the continuous Algerian naval incursions. Every third weekend of May, Capdepera goes back in time to enter the medieval times and the "Mercat Medieval" is celebrated largely in the Castell.
